What is Diphenyl Ether or Phenyl Ether Liquid?
Diphenyl ether is also known as phenyl ether. Colorless oily liquid or crystals. Has a light scent of geranium. The relative density is 1.086, the melting point is 26-28°C, and the boiling point is 259°C. Insoluble in water, inorganic acid solution and alkaline solution, soluble in ethanol Chemicalbook, ether, benzene and glacial acetic acid. It is prepared by heating sodium phenate or potassium phenate with in the presence of catalyst copper powder. Its chemical property is stable, does not change color, and lasts for a long time. As an artificial fixative, it is widely used in soap essence.
