What is 1-Octanol CAS 111-87-5?
1-Octanol known as n-octanol, 1-octyl alcohol, capryl alcohol, is an organic compound that is colorless and transparent oily liquid with a strong greasy and citrus smell. It is immiscible with water, but miscible with ethanol. Octanol is mainly used to prepare dioctyl phthalate, dioctyl terephthalate, octyl acrylate, dioctyl azelaate, dioctyl sebacate and other products; Plasticizers, antifreeze agents, lubricants,extractants, dispersants, stabilizers, fragrances and other products are used in refined oil, plastics, coatings, printing and dyeing, food processing, cosmetics and other fields.
Applications：
1). 1-Octanol is used in the preparation of spices, also used as a solvent and anti-foam agent.
2). It can be used as raw material of spices, octanal, octanoic acid and its esters, and also can be used as solvent, defoamer and lubricant additive.
3). 1-octyl alcohol can be used in appropriate amount in the type of rose, jasmine, pine needles and so on. It can be harmonized with
rose,ylang ylang, antifungal root, orange oil and linalool.
4). Can be used in trace amounts in edible peach, pineapple, coconut, chocolate, various citrus and fruit-based flavor.
5). 1-Octanol liquid is mainly used in the formulation of coconut, pineapple, peach, chocolate and citrus flavors.
