Physical Properties
Sodium Deoxycholate is white to light yellow powder. Easily soluble in water, its aqueous solution is neutral or weakly alkaline, soluble in ethanol, insoluble in organic solvents such as ethyl ether and chloroform.
Chemical Properties
1. Sodium ion and deoxycholate ion can be ionized in aqueous solution.
2. The hydroxyl and carboxyl groups in the molecule have certain reactivity and can react with acids, bases, alcohols and other chemical reactions.
3. Under certain conditions, hydrolysis may occur to produce deoxycholic acid and the corresponding base.
Uses of Sodium Deoxycholate
