Polyisobutylene (Polyisobutene) PIB is a colorless, tasteless, non-toxic thick or semi-solid substance, heat resistance, oxygen resistance,
ozone resistance, weather resistance, ultraviolet resistance, acid and alkali resistance and other chemicals good performance. Polyisobutylene is a colorless, odorless, non-toxic isobutylene homopolymer. Due to the different preparation methods and technological conditions, the molecular weight of polyisobutylene varies in a wide range. Most of the molecular weight of the product reaches more than 10,000 to 200,000 will be converted from a thick liquid to a semi-solid, and then transition to a rubber-like elastomer.
Polyisobutylene (PIB) uses
Industry Field：
1.Adhesives: Low molecular weight PIB has good adhesion and weather resistance, and is commonly used in the preparation of pressure-sensitive adhesives, hot melt adhesives, and construction sealants.
2.Rubber modification: Polyisobutylene is added into natural rubber or synthetic rubber as plasticizer or modifier, and used in the production of tire inner tube and shock absorption products.
3.Lubricant additives: Derivatives of high molecular weight PIB can be used as lubricant dispersants, widely used in engine oil and industrial lubricants.
4.Plastic additives: PIB can be added to polyethylene, polypropylene and other plastics.

Cosmetic raw materials: Polyisobutene is used as thickening agent and moisturizing agent in skin-care and cosmetic products, and it is commonly used in lip balm, hand cream, hairspray, etc.
Other applications
Food industry: PIB that meets the food safety standards can be used as additives for food packaging materials.
