What is Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) CAS 9002-89-5?
Polyvinyl alcohol is a water-soluble synthetic polymer. It is used in papermaking, textile warp sizing, as a thickener and emulsion stabilizer in polyvinyl acetate adhesive formulations, in a variety of coatings, and 3D printing. It is colourless and odorless.


Applications:
- Textile industry: Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) is used as textile slurry to improve the strength and luster of fibres, also raw material for vinylon fibres.
- Paper industry: Used as coating agent for paper making, improve the smoothness, brightness, water resistance and oil resistance of paper.
- Construction field: Poly(vinyl alcohol) is used in the manufacture of biodegradable PVA film, which can be used as agricultural mulch, water-soluble packaging bags, etc.
- Pharmaceutical field: As a drug carrier, made into tablets, capsules, injections and other dosage forms, but Polyvinyl alcohol is also used in ophthalmology, wound dressings and artificial joints.
