Potassium hydroxide(KOH) is highly basic. Potassium hydroxide, kOH, also known as caustic potash, is a hydroxide salt.It can be divided into food grade and industrial grade, ofwhich 99% industrial grade potassium hydroxide is mainly used in leather,papermaking, printing and dyeing, sewage treatment and other fields.Food grade potassium hydroxide is mainly used in pharmaceuticalintermediates, various potassium salts, food additive ingredients, foodprocessing container cleaning, disinfection and other felds.
Uses:
1.Potassium hydroxide is a key raw material for producing potassium carbonate, potassium phosphate and other potassium salts. It is also used in the production of potassium permanganate and potassium cyanide.
2.It is used as an electrolyte in alkaline batteries, such as nickel-cadmium batteries and nickel-hydrogen batteries, to improve battery performance and efficiency.
3. It is used in the synthesis of some drugs and as a pH adjuster in pharmaceutical production.
Textile Industry: It is used for mercerizing cotton fabrics to improve their luster, strength and dyeability.
4. ICaustic Potash is a crucial ingredient in making liquid soaps and detergents. When reacted with fats and oils, it forms potassium soaps, which have good solubility and cleaning power.
