What is 3,3,4,4-Biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride/4,4'-Biphthalic Anhydride?
3,3,4,4-Biphenyltetracarboxylic dianhydride is white or off-white crystalline powder. Insoluble in water, slightly soluble in general organic solvents, such as acetone, chloroform, etc., but in some more polar solvents such as dimethyl formamide (DMF), dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) in a certain solubility. BPDA is stable at room temperature and pressure, but the anhydride structure may undergo hydrolysis and other reactions at high temperatures, in humid environments or in contact with strong acids and bases.
Uses：
1. In the field of material science: 4,4'-Biphthalic Anhydride can be used as precursor for synthesizing polymer materials, such as synthetic polymers, resins and coatings.
2. BPDA can be used to synthesize dyes and pigments.
