Properties：
Sodium Ferrocyanide dissolves easily in water, forming a colorless solution. It can undergo redox reactions. It can react with some metal ions to form precipitates and this reaction can be used to detect the presence of metal ions. Sodium hexacyanoferrate(II) decahydrate is relatively stable at room temperature and when heated it decomposes into sodium ferrocyanide and water vapor.
Applications of Sodium Ferrocyanide:
1.Mainly used as bleaching and fixing solution for the processing of colour sensitive materials, colour auxiliaries, fibre treatment auxiliaries, cosmetic additives, food additives, etc.
2.Produces the blue pigment Prussian Blue.
3.Used as a raw material for the production of red blood salts.
4.Other uses include photographic materials, steel carburising, tanning, dyeing, printing and pharmaceuticals.
