What is Stearyl acrylate (SA) ?

Stearyl acrylate is a colorless to light yellow liquid with special fragrance; it solidifies into white crystals at room temperature; it is insoluble in water, but can be dissolved in some organic solvents such as alcohols. Octadecyl acrylate is often used as the monomer of polymers. It can be copolymerized with other monomers such as butyl acrylate or acrylonitrile through free radical polymerization reaction to prepare copolymers with different properties. SA is widely used in industries such as coatings, inks, adhesives and lubricants.

Applications：

1.Coatings and Inks: It is used as a reactive diluent and cross linking agent in radiation curing coatings, which can improve the hardness, wear resistance, and gloss of the coating film. In inks, it can improve the adhesion and drying properties of inks.
