What is Tetrabromobisphenol A bis(dibromopropyl ether)?
Tetrabromobisphenol A bis(dibromopropyl ether) (BDDP) with CAS 21850-44-2 is an important brominated flame retardant. BDDP is slightly soluble in chloroform, dimethyl sulfoxide and methanol and insoluble in water. It contains both aliphatic bromine and aromatic bromine in its molecular structure, so it has good flame retardant properties.
Uses of BDDP：
- Flame Retardant in Plastics: Tetrabromobisphenol A bis(dibromopropyl ether) is mainly used as an additive flame retardant for polyolefins such as polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), and polystyrene (PS). It can also be used in ABS resin, polycarbonate, polyurethane soft foam, epoxy resin and other plastics.
- Electrical and Electronic Products: BDDP is used in fabricated plastic sheet materials for application in the formation of a part of many electrical cabinets.
