What Is Amitraz 

Amitraz is a triadienyl compound of the amitraz pesticide family with the chemical formula C19H23N3 and molecular weight of 293.41.Amitraz is a broad-spectrum insecticide and acaricide used worldwide in agriculture, horticulture and veterinary medicine since 1974.

Amitraz Solution is a topical ectoparasiticide used to treat and control demodicosis and other external parasitic infestations in livestock animals, like cows, sheep, goats, and pigs, and companion animals, such as dogs and cats. This broad-spectrum ectoparasiticide is effective for fleas, scabies, lice, ticks, and mites.

 

Indications for Amitraz in cattle

Amitraz prevents and controls ticks, mites, lice, nits and other ectoparasitic infestations in cattle.
Amitraz effectively controls humpback sores, ear sores, tail sore dermatitis and mange in cattle, buffalo, small ruminants and wildlife.
Amitraz also kills strains of ectoparasites that are resistant to organochlorines, organophosphates and pyrethroids.
It is the drug of choice against canine helminthiasis. It is very effective against mange in animals. It acts on ticks in a very effective manner.

-Spraying method: Dilute Amitraz Solution according to the proportion (generally 0.025%-0.05% solution), spray evenly on the animal's body surface, focusing on the parts where parasites are easy to gather, such as behind the ears, neck, back and limbs.
-Medicine bath method: diluted according to the specified concentration, can be used for cattle and sheep medicine bath treatment, to ensure that the drug covers the whole body.
