Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) is a colorless liquid with a sweet, fruity odor. It is a key building block in the production of polyvinyl acetate (PVA) and vinyl acetate copolymers, which are widely used in adhesives, paints, coatings, textiles, and paper. VAM is also used in the production of ethylene-vinyl acetate (EVA) and polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), essential in various industrial and consumer applications. Due to its reactivity, it polymerizes easily and is typically stabilized with hydroquinone.
Storage & Handling
Vinyl acetate monomer (VAM) is a flammable liquid, and exposure to it can cause irritation to the skin, eyes, and respiratory tract. Safety precautions must be taken when handling the material, including the use of engineering controls, proper ventilation and the wearing of personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety goggles, and protective clothing to avoid direct contact with the substance.

Stick to a maximum storage temperature of 30°C to protect it against degradation and polymerisation.
