Physical and Chemical Properties
Appearance: It is a white solid, usually in the form of powder or lump.
Density: Approximately 2.7 - 2.95g/cm^3
Melting point: 825°C (Under standard atmospheric pressure, it decomposes into calcium oxide and carbon dioxide when the temperature exceeds this value.)
Solubility: It is insoluble in water, with a very low solubility in water. However, it can dissolve in dilute acids such as hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, generating carbon dioxide gas at the same time.
