Uses
- Plexiglass manufacturing: As an important organic chemical raw material and polymer intermediate, methacrylic acid's most important derivative, methyl methacrylate, can be used to produce plexiglass, which is used in aircraft, windows in civil buildings, etc.
- Coatings: Coatings made from it have superior suspension, rheology and durability characteristics.
- Adhesive applications: It can be made into adhesives for bonding metals, leather, plastics and construction materials.
- Fabric treatment: Methacrylate polymer emulsions are used as fabric finishing agents and antistatic agents.
- Synthetic Rubber Raw Material: Methacrylic acid can also be used as a raw material for synthetic rubber.
