Properties of Mono pentaerythritol
White powdery crystal. Density 1. 395g/cm3. melting point 261～262°C. Boiling point(4kPa) 276°C. Refractive index 1. 548. Refractive index 1. 548. ignition point <370℃. Heat of vaporization <92kj/mol, heat of sublimation 13L skj/mol. easily esterified by general organic acids, no reaction with dilute caustic soda solution with cooking. 15 ℃ lg dissolved in 18rnL water. Soluble in ethanol, glycerol, ethylene glycol, formamide. Insoluble in acetone, benzene, carbon tetrachloride, ether and petroleum ether.
Application of Pentaerythritol 95% 98%:
1. Commonly used in paint industry, is the raw material of alkyd paint.
2. Used as raw material of modified rosin alcohol for varnish, color paint and printing ink.
3. Mono pentaerythritol can be used to make flame retardant coatings, dry oil and aviation lubricants.
4. Industrial grade Pentaerythritol can be used as plasticizer and stabilizer of PVC resin.
5. It can also be used in the manufacture of medicine, surfactant, adhesive, pesticide and lubricating oil.
