Products Description
Barium stearate is a white or yellow amorphous powder with a melting point greater than 225ºC. It has a stimulating effect on the central nervous system, and is soluble in hot ethanol, benzene, and other nonpolar solvents, but insoluble in water and ethanol. Dissolves in organic solvents after heating, becomes a gel after cooling, and is hygroscopic in air. Does not contain sulfides. Strong acids decompose into stearic acid and the corresponding barium salt.
Application of Thermal Stabilizers Barium Stearate
1. Used as high-temperature resistant lubricant for machines, high-temperature resistant additive for rubber products, light and heat resistant stabilizer for PVC plastics;
2. Used as heat stabilizer for PVC products;
3. Used as waterproofing agent, lubricant and bearing filling material;
4. Used as high temperature powder for rubber products.
5. Used in transparent film, sheet, artificial leather, rigid plate and pipe.
