Products Description
Isostearic acid, also known as 16-Methylheptadecanoic acid. It is a branched-chain fatty acid with the molecular formula C18H36O2 and a molecular weight of 284.48. It is insoluble in water but soluble in common organic solvents such as ethanol, ether and benzene. It is commonly used as a surfactant in the manufacture of products such as soaps, detergents, dyes and lubricants.
Applications：
Cosmetics Grade: Isostearic acid can be used as a binder, emulsifier, surfactant, dispersant and emollient. It is widely used in creams, lotions, suppositories and ointments.
Industrial Grade:
1. As a softener, it is used in rubber compounds and food packaging materials.
2. 16-Methylheptadecanoic Acid can be used as a deleafing inhibitor in aerosol metallic paints.
3.Isostearic Acid Liquid is used as an intermediate for detergents, it is applied to personal care, household and industrial detergents. It is also an ingredient in soaps and shampoos.
4.It is used in the manufacture of esters, lubricants, textile auxiliaries and plasticizers.
