What is Caprylic Acid liquid?
Caprylic acid also known as caprylic, octanoic acid, with CAS 124 - 07 - 2 refers to octanoic acid, a saturated fatty acid with eight carbon atoms.It is a colorless to slightly yellowish clear liquid. It is slightly soluble in water, with a solubility of 0.68 g/l at 20 °C, and is soluble in organic solvents such as ethanol and ether. Caprylic acid is used in the manufacture of dyes, drugs, spices, etc., which are the edible spices that are allowed to be used by GB 2760-86. Also used as plasticizers, lubricants, pesticides, preservatives, anti rust agent, corrosion inhibitor, foaming agent, defoaming agent, also used for separation of ore.
