Applications：

1. Vinyl acetate monomer (VAM): (Accounting for ~35% of global use). Glacial Acetic Acid is used to make paints, adhesives, coatings and polymers such as polyvinyl acetate (PVA).
2. Acetic anhydride: Used to produce cellulose acetate for photographic film, cigarette filters and textiles, as well as pharmaceuticals such as aspirin.
3. Solvents: Production of ethyl acetate and butyl acetate, which are common solvents for inks, coatings and cosmetics.
4. Terephthalic acid (PTA): A key precursor for polyethylene terephthalate (PET), which is used to make plastic bottles and polyester fibres.
5. Other uses: Production of monochloroacetic acid, dyes and intermediates for pesticides, as well as use as a laboratory reagent.
