Cyclohexanone Chemical is a critical industrial chemical used primarily (up to 96%) as an intermediate in the production of Nylon-6 and Nylon-6,6.
- Nylon 6 precursor: 70% of the world's caprolactam, which is converted to Nylon-6, is produced from cyclohexanone.
- Nylon 6,6 precursor: It is used to produce adipic acid, a key monomer for Nylon-6,6.
- Properties: A clear, colourless liquid with a peppermint-like odour, it acts as a solvent for resins, dyes, and coatings.
