What is Dimethoxymethane CAS 109-87-5?

Dimethoxymethanem also known as Methylal, is a colorless liquid with a peculiar etheric odor; it is miscible with many organic solvents and water. It is widely used in organic synthesis as a solvent and extractant; it is often used as a solvent in chemical laboratories for separating and extracting compounds.

Applications of Dimethoxymethane liquid:

1. Solvent: Dimethoxymethane has good solubility and volatility, and can dissolve nitrocellulose with a high nitrogen content. It is used in the production of resins, coatings, adhesives, and perfumes. It can also be used as a cleaning agent to replace Freon and chlorinated solvents.
