What is 99% Cyclohexane?

Cyclohexane is a cycloalkane with the molecular formula C6H12. It is non-polar. It is a colorless, flammable liquid with a distinctive detergent-like odor, reminiscent of cleaning products (in which it is sometimes used). It is mainly used for the industrial production of adipic acid and caprolactam, which are precursors to nylon.

Chemical property:

Cyclohexane liquid is volatile and extremely flammable, and the vapor and air form an explosive mixture, with an explosion limit of 1.3 ~ 8.4% (volume). It is easy to burn and explode in case of open fire and high heat. Contact with oxidant will cause strong reaction and even cause combustion. Its vapor is heavier than air, and can spread to a considerable distance at a lower place. It will catch fire and burn back when encountering a fire source.

1.Chemical Raw Material: 99% Cyclohexane is used to prepare cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone, and also for the synthesis of nylon 6 and other polymer materials.
2.Solvent: Widely used as a solvent in the coating industry, and is also an excellent solvent for resins, fats, paraffin oils, butyl rubber, etc.
3.Other Uses: Can be used as a diluent for adhesives, grease extractant, etc. Sometimes cyclohexane can replace benzene in degreasing, derusting and paint stripping processes due to its relatively low toxicity.
