Potassium formate, HCO₂K, HCOOK, or KHCO₂, is the potassium salt of formic acid. It has good water solubility, high solubility in water and its aqueous solution is alkaline. It can react with some acids, alkalis and salts in complex decomposition. Under high temperature, it will decompose to produce potassium carbonate and hydrogen.
