What is AMPS Powder?
2-acrylamido-2-methylpropane sulfonic acid is a colorless to light yellow solid with a peculiar odor. It is a mercapto polymer compound.AMPS has excellent temperature and electrochemical stability, and it dissolves well in water.AMPS has strong hydrophilicity, strong adsorption ability to water, and excellent dispersing, wetting and foam stabilizing properties. 2-Acrylamido-2-Methylpropane Sulfonic Acid also has certain anti-ionic properties, can form complexes with cations and anions, making it widely used in water treatment, textile, oil extraction and petrochemical fields.
Applications：
1. Petroleum industry: the copolymer made with many kinds of substances can be used as cementing cement admixture, oil well cement slurry water loss agent, cement dispersant, etc..
2. Water treatment industry: its homopolymer or copolymer with other monomers can be used as sludge dewatering agent in sewage purification, anticorrosive agent in circulating system, descaling agent, scale inhibitor and so on.
3. Paper industry: water-soluble polymers containing AMPS can be used as paper reinforcing agent, filler utilization improvement agent, pulp dispersant, etc.
4. Coating industry: as modifier, adhesive and finishing agent and other performance enhancers.
