N,N'-Dimethylurea is colorless crystal, soluble in water, alcohols and ether solvents; relatively stable at room temperature. It is widely used as a reagent in organic synthesis, as a non-aqueous solvent and catalyst. 1,3-Dimethylurea (DMU) can also be used as an amination reagent in organic synthesis, for the synthesis of urea, urea and other organic compounds.

Applications of N,N-Dimethylurea (DMU):

1. Organic synthesis intermediates: N,N'-Dimethylurea is used in the synthesis of drugs, pesticides, dyes and other organic compounds. In drug synthesis, it can be used as raw materials for the preparation of certain biologically active compounds; in the field of pesticides, it can be used to synthesize some new pesticide varieties.
2. Textile auxiliaries: as a formaldehyde - free textile additives, DMU can be used for cellulose fibers and their synthetic blended fabrics crosslinking agent, can improve the performance of the fabric, such as wrinkle resistance, abrasion resistance.
