What is Pure Citronellol?
Citronellol is a colorless, oily liquid with a fresh rose-like special aroma and a bitter taste. There are three natural products of d-, dl- and l-l-citronellol, that is, rose alcohol, refers to d-citronellol. The boiling point is 225 °C and the flash point is 102 °C. Soluble in ethanol and most non-volatile oils , insoluble in glycerol, insoluble in water.
Applications：
- Perfume and essence: because of its strong rose fragrance, citronellol is widely used to prepare perfume and essence, which is the base fragrance of rose essence, and also used to sweeten fresh flower fragrance, such as lily of the valley, lilac, osmanthus and other fragrance types.
- Food flavor: Citronellol, as a food additive, is used to increase the flavor of rose, strawberry, raspberry and other berries, citrus fresh fruit, peach and other edible essence.
- Pharmaceutical raw materials: Citronellol has antibacterial properties and can inhibit the activity of Staphylococcus aureus and Salmonella typhi, making it a potential application in the pharmaceutical field.
- Personal care products: Citroen alcohol is used in daily chemical products such as soap, skincare products, cosmetics, etc. due to its pleasant aroma and antioxidant capacity.
- Insect repellent and mosquito repellent: It has insect repellent and mosquito repellent effects, commonly used in candles, spray, lotion and other products.
