Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose (commonly known as CMC) is a versatile and widely used polymer. It is a sodium salt of carboxymethyl cellulose, which is derived from natural cellulose, caustic alkali and monochloroacetic acid. CMC has excellent water solubility and film-forming properties, making it useful in a wide range of industries.
Uses：
- Food industry: Sodium Carboxymethyl Cellulose is used as thickener, stabilizer, emulsifier and so on in the production of yogurt, jelly, jam, bread and steamed bread and other foods. It can also be used as edible coating materials.
- Pharmaceutical industry: CMC can be used as excipient, disintegrating agent, adhesive of drugs, etc. It is used in the manufacture of tablets, capsules, eye drops and other medicines.
