What is 1,2-Pentanediol CAS 5343-92-0?
1,2-Pentanediol is a colorless, viscous liquid with a special sweet odor at room temperature. It has good solubility, can be dissolved in water and many organic solvents, it is an easily volatile liquid, hygroscopic. Pentylene glycol is often used as a solvent, wetting agent and thickener.
Uses：
- Cosmetic field: Pentylene glycol can be used as cosmetic additives; it has broad-spectrum antimicrobial activity, can replace part of the traditional preservatives, reduce the irritation of the formula, and it is compatible with other ingredients, it can be used in skin creams, eye creams, skin lotions, baby care products, sunscreen products, shampoos and so on.
- Pharmaceutical field: 1,2-Pentanediol is the key raw material for the synthesis of the fungicide propiconazole, and can also be used as a drug solvent or intermediate for dissolving insoluble active ingredients.
- Industrial field: IPentane-1,2-diol can be used as solvent in ink, paint, resin and other products; it can also be used as raw material of plasticizer and surfactant for the production of plastics and detergent.
