The applications of butadiene rubber
Butadiene Rubber is a non-corrosive, flammable, colorless gas smelling faintly of petrol, obtained from the C4 fraction in the cracking process of naphtha. It is slightly soluble in water, as well as in methanol and ethanol and soluble in the commoner organic solvents, such as acetone, ether, benzene and cyclohexane.
The main applications of butadiene rubber BR are synthetic rubber (SBR, SBS, thermoplastic rubber, etc.), widely used in producing shoe soles, tyres and other parts for the car industry, adhesives and sealants, asphalt and polymer modification and compounds for endless purposes.
Butadiene rubber is also the basis for nylon and ABS resins, car tyres, electrical appliance shells and telephones, among others.
