2,2 -Azobis(2-methylpropionitrile) is white needle-like crystals or white powdery crystals. Insoluble in water, soluble in methanol, ethanol, acetone, ether, petroleum ether, toluene, aniline and other organic solvents. Danger of combustion and explosion when exposed to high heat, open flame or mixed with oxidizing agent, after friction and impact. When burning, it releases toxic gas. When heated, it is unstable and decomposes gradually at 40℃, releasing nitrogen and organic cyanide compounds, which are harmful to human body and emit large heat and can cause explosion.
Uses of AIBN Azobisisobutyronitrile CAS 78-67-1
It can be used as initiator in the polymerization of vinyl chloride, vinyl acetate, acrylonitrile and other monomers.
