Polyisobutylene (PIB) provides long-lasting adhesion in pressure-sensitive adhesives (PSA), hot-melt adhesives (HMA), and hot-melt pressure-sensitive adhesives (HMPSA), bonding with resins, elastomers, and solvents. PIB-based adhesives are used in paper laminates, labels, medical bandages, tapes, and more. It also serves in skin-permeable tablets, block silicone seal PSAs, and as tackifiers, plasticizers, and humidifiers in hot melt adhesives.
