Uses
- M-xylene is made from m-xylene by reaction, which is used in the synthesis of unsaturated polyester resins and other high-performance materials; it is involved in the synthesis of polyester fibres with good dyeing and UV resistance; in the rubber industry, it can be used as a solvent or involved in the reaction.
- In the paint and ink industry, m-xylene can dissolve resins and pigments; used as an adhesive to enhance adhesion to a variety of materials; it can also clean metals and electronic components.
- As a petrol additive, m-xylene is used to enhance octane number; in organic synthesis, it is used as raw materials for synthesis of pesticides, pharmaceuticals and other intermediates, to help the preparation of fine chemicals.
