What is Cyclohexane CAS 110-82-7?
Cyclohexane, an organic compound with the chemical formula C6H12, is a colorless and pungent liquid, insoluble in water and soluble in most organic solvents such as ethanol, ether, benzene, acetone, etc.
It has a ring structure consisting of six carbon atoms, each of which is connected by a covalent bond. Each carbon atom has two hydrogen atoms. Cyclohexane is a saturated hydrocarbon because it has only single bonds between carbon atoms.
It can also be used as a reaction medium in some organic synthesis reactions because it is soluble and inert in many organic chemical reactions.
Applications of Chemical Solvent Cyclohexane:
1. Mainly used in the production of cyclohexanol and cyclohexanone, also used in the production of adipic acid and caprolactam.
2.Cyclohexane is an excellent solvent for cellulose ethers, resins, waxes, oils, asphalt and rubber. It can also be used as a diluent for polymerization reactions, a release agent for coatings, and an extractant for adipic acid.
3. Cyclohexane liquid can be used as an analytical reagent or chromatographic analysis standard substance, such as a reagent for complexometric titration of copper, iron, silicon, aluminum, calcium, magnesium, etc.
