Methylcyclohexane is an organic compound with the chemical formula C7H14. It is a colorless, transparent liquid, insoluble in water, but soluble in ethanol, ether, acetone, benzene, petroleum ether, carbon tetrachloride, etc. It is mainly used as a solvent, a standard substance for chromatographic analysis, and as a standard for calibrating thermometers. It is also used in organic synthesis.
