Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) is miscible with ethanol, soluble in ether, acetone, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride and other organic solvents, insoluble in water. It is easily polymerized into a transparent solid by the action of heat, light or trace amounts of peroxide. Usually hydroquinone or diphenylamine is added as a stabilizer, and the storage time of pure products without stabilizers should not exceed 24h.iscible with ethanol, soluble in ether, acetone, chloroform, carbon tetrachloride and other organic solvents, insoluble in water. VAM Chemical is the key raw material used in the production of polyvinyl acetate (PVAc), vinyl acetate ethylene (VAE) emulsions and polyvinyl alcohol (PVOH), a precursor to PvB films. VAM is also used to make ethylene vinyl alcohol (EVOH) resins and ethylene vinyl acetate copolymers (EVA).
