What is Stearamide CAS 124-26-5?

Stearamide also known as octadecanamide, stearic acid amide, is a white or yellowish faded powder. After recrystallization in ethanol, it is colorless leaf crystal. Soluble in hot ethanol, chloroform, ether, insoluble in cold ethanol, insoluble in water. Stearic acid amide is often used as a lubricant, mold release agent and coating agent additive.

Applications：

1. In the plastic processing process, the addition of octadecanamide can reduce the friction between plastics and processing equipment, which helps the smooth molding of plastic products.
2. Stearamide can be used as an intermediate for the synthesis of some special surfactants.
