Dimethyl sebacate is an organic compound, a colorless liquid, soluble in organic solvents such as alcohols, ethers and chlorinated hydrocarbons, insoluble in water. DMS is often used as a solvent and plasticizer in plastics, rubber, resin and coating industries.
Applications of DMS for plasticizer:
In the Plastics Industry:
1.PVC Products: Dimethyl sebacate is often used in the production of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) products. It can improve the flexibility, processability and low-temperature resistance of PVC.
2.Other Plastics: Besides PVC, dimethyl sebacate can also be used as a plasticizer in some other plastic materials, such as polyvinyl acetate and polyurethane.
In the Rubber Industry: It can be used as a softener and plasticizer in the rubber industry.
In the Coating and Adhesive Industry: In coatings and adhesives, DMS can improve the flexibility and adhesion of the products. It can make the coating film have better elasticity and durability, and enhance the bonding strength of adhesives.
