Silicone Oil, also known as Polydimethylsiloxane(PDMS) or dimethicone, is a silicone-based polymer with a repeating unit of dimethylsiloxane. It is a colorless, odorless, and non-toxic liquid or gel-like substance with excellent thermal stability, electrical insulating properties, and water repellency.Silicone oils can be used as lubricants, thermal insulators and heat transfer mediums in fields such as aerospace, machine building and the electronics industry.
Applications:
1. In the daily chemical industry, silicone oil is used in various cosmetic formulations such as skin creams, shower gels and shampoos .
2. In the rubber, plastic, latex, polyurethane and light industry, polydimethylsiloxane is used as a mold release agent, isolating agent and whitening agent for the production of certain rubber, plastic, latex, polyurethane products and handicrafts.
3. In machinery, automobile, instrumentation, electronics and other industries, it is used as high-grade lubricant, liquid spring, cutting fluid, buffer oil, transformer oil, high and low temperature brake fluid, brake oil, instrumentation vibration damping oil, frame molding release agent and so on.
