What is TBHQ CAS 1948-33-0 ?
TBHQ also known as Tertiary Butylhydroquinone,Tert-Butylhydroquinone,Tertiary Butyl Hydroquinone, is an effective antioxidant. In food, tert butyl hydroquinone is used as an antioxidant of vegetable oil and a variety of edible animal fats. It will not change color when meeting iron, nor will it change the taste or smell of food. TBHQ Powder can also be used with other preservatives such as butyl hydroxyanisole (BHA).
Applications：
1. Food industry: TBHQ is used as antioxidant in edible oils and fats, fried foods, cookies, instant noodles, cured meat products and puffed foods, etc. The maximum use level is 0.2g/kg.
2. Cosmetic field: as a cosmetic additive, it can prevent the oxidation and rancidity of oil and grease components to ensure the quality and safety of cosmetics, such as lipstick, cream, lotion and so on.
3. In the field of flavors and fragrances, tertiary butylhydroquinone can be used to delay the oxidative deterioration of flavors, improve the stability and prolong the storage time.
4. Chemical field: tertiary butyl hydroquinone can be used as organic synthesis intermediates to synthesize polymer antioxidant, 2,5- Di-tert-butylhydroquinone, and can also synthesize food antioxidant butyl hydroxyanisole (BHA).
