Products Description
1,6-Hexanediol is a waxy hygroscopic solid compound that is white in colour. The compound is a linear diol that contains two primary hydroxyl groups that are located at the terminal. 1,6-Hexanediol's linear hydrocarbon chain enables the compound to have enhanced hardness and flexibility of polyesters.
Applications:
HDO is widely used in the following fields:
(1) Polyurethane field: Applied to the production of polyester resin for the modification of polyurethane elastomer. Polyurethane elastomers are widely used in synthetic rubber, elastic fibers, synthetic leather and other fields HDO can also be used in the production of polycarbonate.
(2) Polyester field: 1,6-Hexanediol can improve the alkali resistance of the resin and improve the adhesion with glass fiber. Polyester has high tensile strength, high elasticity, excellent solvent resistance and moisture resistance, and is particularly suitable for photographic plate products. 1,6-Hexanediol is also suitable for polyester fiber processing.
(3) Coating: Hexan-1,6-diol mainly reacts with acrylic acid to form HDDA, a bifunctional reactive diluent, which is widely used in the production of light-curing coatings, printing inks and adhesives.
