What is Methyl Methacrylate CAS 80-62-6 ?
Methyl methacrylate is a colorless liquid, volatile and flammable; soluble in ethanol, ether, acetone and other organic solvents; slightly soluble in ethylene glycol and water; easy to polymerize in the presence of light, heat, ionizing radiation and catalyst. It is the monomer of organic glass, also used in the manufacture of other resins, plastics, paints, adhesives, lubricants, wood impregnating agent, motor coil impregnating agent, paper varnish, printing and dyeing auxiliaries and insulating perfusion materials.
Applications:
1.Methyl Methacrylate is used for manufacturing plexiglass, paint, lubricating oil additive, wood wetting agent, paper polishing agent, etc.
2.Methyl methacrylate is not only an organic chemical material, but also can be directly used as a chemical product. As an organic chemical material, it is mainly used in the production of organic glass (polymethylmethacrylate, PM-MA), but also used in the production of ACR, PVC additives and as the second monomer production of acrylic fibers. In addition, it is widely used in adhesives, coatings, resins, textiles, paper and other industries. As a chemical product, MMA can be directly used in leather, ion exchange resin, papermaking, varnish, textile auxiliaries, leather treatment agents, lubricant additives, crude oil, wood and cork impregnating agent, motor coil soaking agent, insulating castables and plastic-type emulsions plasticizers, floor polishing, unsaturated resins, high-level methacrylate and many other fields.
3. Organic synthetic monomers. MMA is also used in the manufacture of other resins, plastics, paints, adhesives, scale inhibitors and dispersants, lubricants, wood wetting agents, motor coil wetting agents, paper glazing agents, printing and dyeing auxilaries and insulation perfusion materials.
