What are the uses of cyclohexane?
1.Key Raw Material in Chemical Synthesis
Cyclohexane liquid serves as a vital intermediate in the production of nylon-6,6. Through oxidation, it converts into cyclohexanone and cyclohexanol, which are further processed to form adipic acid and hexamethylenediamine. These monomers undergo condensation polymerization to create nylon-6,6, widely used in textiles, automotive parts, engineering plastics, and everyday products (e.g., zippers, ropes).
2.Efficient Industrial Solvent
Due to its excellent lipophilicity, cyclohexane dissolves resins, rubber, fats, and waxes, commonly used in manufacturing paints, varnishes, and adhesives.
